Scars ; The Explanation EliJaydenColor
After making this picture, people were curious as to how Eli Ezra received his scars. (Also Jayden's hair defies gravity)

I present Scars the explanation of how Eli Ezra became a flawed human being.
Warning; this did get a bit graphic over the burn explanation... so, that's your warning.

Scars

There were many ragged scars with uneven, unforgiving textures that marred his skin.

Scars were signs of mistakes, of events you could never take back. Moments of weakness where your guard was let down, moments where people knew how to strike you and get away with it, moments where no matter how hard you tried…

You just were never good enough.

He swore could feel the ones on his back some days. If you were to touch them, Eli would never feel it. Not that anyone besides her has ever willingly touched them. The nerves were dead and the skin just as much. He merely existed on those lines, never lived. He’d never regain feeling but the sentiment of failure lingered in them just as hot as a branding iron being prodded into his skin.

Though, those were the easier and less painful of his scars. Eli was eight and just getting started in the Arena. He had fought an Earth bender that managed to knock him off of his feet while his team had been too busy to save him. Shards of broken rocks sliced his back open as he hit the ground. His team had won but he was out of the game for a week. A week spent nonstop training to be better, to not fail his team again.

Next the set of his the scars from his upper arms small and barely noticeable scratches he had gotten when a member for the other team attacked him with ice. He fought back, of course, with lightning. The new found ability that he had somehow figured out within the three seconds of reaction time by separating the positive and the negative energy and it just…

Happened.

Next thing Eli knew was the kid was seizing and the crowd had gone quiet. His arms ached but he felt a hand on his shoulder from the water bender on his team.

He was eleven years old and accidently disabled someone because he couldn’t control his abilities.

His other scars were some that he couldn’t even remember getting or even receiving. Some of them just weren’t bad enough to remember or some had happened so quickly he wasn’t even sure what had caused them. Injury and death were common in the Arena.

Yet Eli had never taken a life, though with the water bender he had disabled Eli believed himself to have taken his life.

Next scar and his worst and least painful (ironically) as the large burn mark on his arm. It was red, angry in the center and slowly moved to a slightly light pink until it abruptly turned to natural skin color. Want to know the funny thing about fire benders? For some reason they think that they’re fire proof or that other fire benders are fire proof as well.

That’s not the case.

Not in the slightest.

Eli was fifteen and had just won the Freedom Tourne. Another fire bender was angry, pissed the she hadn’t won her freedom. She had grabbed Eli as her hand exploded in pent up fire magic. She thought it was okay, he was a fire bender, he could take it.

He would never be able to fully move his right hand ever again. The flames and melted the skin, the muscles, the tendons, and the ligaments. Eli never felt the pain; well he did for a brief moment until his nerve endings were burnt.

A split second of pain and he barely even remembers it. His hand can barely close into a fist. He physically has to move it into a fist position. It was a good thing Eli’s dominate hand was left or he would have never been able to function in the real world.

Scars were signs of mistakes, of events Eli could never take back. Moments of weakness where his guard was let down, moments where people knew how to strike him and get away with it, moments where no matter how hard Eli tried…

He just was never good enough.
