Something To Be Proud Of Empty
PostSubject: Something To Be Proud Of   Something To Be Proud Of EmptyMon Sep 24, 2012 3:44 am

The game was getting hot, with both teams getting in the lead periodically. The Gryffindor team was putting up a pretty good fight, and Asami could feel it. The chasers had been giving her a hard time for the past hour, throwing the quaffle at the hoops with expert precision. But what they didn’t know was that they were going against an expert keeper. Asami had managed to keep out a majority of the shots in her direction, which pleased her greatly. But she couldn’t block out all the shots though, and the Gryffindor keeper was the same. So, the score kept getting neck-in-neck. They would be even, then Slytherin would get ahead, then Gryffindor would take the lead, then they would be tied again. Asami could sense things getting heated up. But for now, she enjoyed watching the action. She flipped her hair a bit, making some Slytherin boys whistle at her.

Suddenly, two Gryffindor chasers headed towards her. Asami’s brow furrowed in concentration, her hands gripping tightly on her broom. They weren’t going to get past her. Not this time. One of the chasers, a boy, had the quaffle under his arm. He started heading to the left. Asami flew in the same direction. But at the last minute, he threw the quaffle at the other chaser, a girl. Asami tried to move in the way of the shot, but she was too slow. The girl chaser caught the quaffle and threw it at the now unprotected hoop on the right side.

“Oh no, you don’t,” Asami said through gritted teeth. She shot forward like a bullet. The only thing that mattered to her was stopping that quaffle. Everything seemed to move in slow motion, her mind racing at high-speed. Just when it seemed like she wouldn’t make it, she suddenly flipped her broom forward, actually somersaulting through the air. She hit the quaffle with the back of her broom and the tips of her feet, sending it back towards the playing field.

“Oh come on!” the girl chaser yelled. Asami just shot her a gloating smile. She dimly heard the commentator saying how she had magnificently blocked the shot, but that didn’t matter to her. She was listening to the cheering from the Slytherins in the crowd. They were proud of her. For this moment, they were proud of her. Celebrated her. It was something she never got at home. No, the only place she could get it was here, at Hogwarts. And she cherished moments like these like they were precious jewels.

((Yeah, this is just my fanfic for the Quidditch challenge. Here's the link for the video:
