First Class of the Year: Defence Against the Dark Arts

Alliss walked towards the wardrobe in the far centre of the room and checked it was locked. There were no desks currently in the classroom, apart from her own with a chair behind it. There would be no need for them. The wardrobe shook and she smiled, hoping the students would enjoy this lesson before walking back to her desk and leaning against it, waiting for the children to arrive.

Evie was infuriated by the time she got to the defence against the Dark arts classroom . The amount of first years that think they who had stopped in the middle of the halls and think that other students will just function around them. But they don't, however Evie's good nature come across to help them and redirect them to there classrooms. She sighed while she walked into the classroom and suddenly was put on edge as she saw the towering wardrobe . She heard the rumours about what would happen and that scared her. She flickered her eyes and went into the classroom further.

"Hello Professor Rivera , can I come in even though I'm early?" She explained politely to the bronzed teacher with dark hair.

Fionn slouched in, looking around bored. he eyed the shaking wardrobe with some amount of distrust, but shrugged and sat down. Professor Rivera wasn't the kind to give her students deadly assignments. at least, not on the first day. dropping his books loudly on the desk, he sat down and glared at anyone and everyone around him who stared. it was none of their business! he looked intently at the teacher, waiting for class to start

Moses walked into the DADA classroom, with a smile as he took in everything in the room. It was the first day of classes already. "Ciao Professor!" he called out with a wave, grinning at her brightly. The grin lessened though as he spotted Causer. The dark skinned teen rolled his eyes, and moved away from the other to avoid conflict. It was then that he took noticed of the wardrobe. Did it just move? Please tell me it's not what I think it is. he though, suddenly worried. he hoped it wasn't.

Hiccup slid on the floor hoping that he wasn't late and he lost his balance. Hiccup then fell on his face and notice he was in front of the teacher and he chuckled nervously. Hiccup said with a smile as he got up, "Sorry about that Prof. I was a little lost happens when you've been gone for the whole summer." Hiccup saw the wardrobe and said with an excited smile, "That's a Boggart isn't it? The creature who takes many forms of were frighten of."

Maggie skipped into the defence against the dark arts classroom. "Hello!" She said cheerfully and placed her school bag to the corner of the room, walking next to Fionn. "What are we doing today? Any idea?" She asked with a whisper.

Emily walked shyly into the class. She didn't know what to expect. It was her first class in Hogwarts, her first no muggle class ever... She saw the teacher looking to her students, and there were no desks in there, just a shooking wardrobe. She smiled bashfully as she talked to the teacher... ''Good morning, Miss Rivera'' Then she looked arount the class. There were students from the other houses, and from many other years. As she saw Moses, she walked to him, smiling brightly as she said...''Good morning, Mozy...''

Moses watched as others began to come in, his eyes going to Hiccup as the boy asked if there was a boggart in the wardrobe. He tensed a little as he awaited the answer, hoping that it wasn't. but his attention was taken away as a voice spoke to him. Turning his head, he spotted his little apprentice and smiled brightly. "Ciao Emily." he greeted, leaning over to give her a peck on the cheek. "You are having a good morning si?' he asked her, titling his head to the side.

Emily smiled brightly when Moses kissed her cheek, and she said delighed.... ''Yep, It's been great...'' She said to her mentor ''... everything is so new to me, I can't wait till the class begin...''
Then she giggled, and asked to him... ''Why sometimes you speak differentely?... it sounds a foreign language...''

Caleb entered the classroom and took a gulp as he saw the wardrobe centered in the room . Putting that aside he moved over to where Moses stood with a first year.
" Hi Moses and it's Emily , isn't it - I'm Caleb ? " He smiled trying not to be intimidating for the young girl.

Moses chuckled at the excited girl, bringing his hand upon her head to ruffle her hair. It was nice to see someone excited. It helped calm his nerves about the wardrobe. At her question, he beamed at her. "I am from Italy. So sometimes I slip between my native tongue and English." he sold her, chuckling a little. It was then that Caleb joined them. Ah, ciao my friend." he said with a grin, before watching as the other introduced himself to the first year.

Maggie saw Caleb come in, and join Moses and Emily. She excused herself, giving Fionn an appologetic smile. She then took few steps close to Moses and Caleb, poking Caleb to the side. "Hi Buttons." She said brightly smiling to him.

''Oh, I've always wanted to go there, and as I came to Hogwarts, finally my parents decided to take us there on my vacation...'' She said brightful to him, and as the other boy came near, she kept smiling to him.... ''Good morning, Caleb... That's right, I'm Emily. Nice to meet you!''

“daddy, daddy I’ll be fine! It’s my first class, I’ll be okay!” Pippa told her father (for the umpteenth time) as he followed her worriedly down the hall. “bu’ sweetums, it’s Defense ‘gainst th dark arts! I cn excuse ye from th class ye know” Pippa rolled her eyes ans she walked into the room, scratching the purring Mrs. Norris in her arms between the ears. “daddy, I’ll be fine! Shouldn’t I know how to ward off dark arts and know what it looks like?” she gave a sheepish wave to Moses and Emily as her father spluttered behind her. “hey guys. What’s up?” behind her Filch gave an ‘I’m watching you’ motion with his hands to Moses, before giving Pippa a kiss on the forehead as she turned around and hugged him. Waving, the old man shuffled out of the room with Mrs. Norris following. Pippa hunched her shoulders as she walked quickly to a seat beside Emily, trying to ignore the stares and whispers. “you’d think I was the Chosen One with all the talk they’re spreading about me”

He smiled at Emily before turning to see Maggie at his side . His eyes brightened as he saw her and his smile grew wider.
" Hi Maggie " He replied .

Fionn grinned at Maggie and shook his head. “sorry. I know it must have something to do with the closet..thing…though. see how it’s jumping around?” he chuckled. “looks like it ate my sister’s beans. You’ll be dancing within minutes of eating those!” he looked at Moses and sighed, picking up his books and following Maggie. “I promise on mam’s biscuits I won’t start a fight. I would just like to sit with a good friend of mine” he stared at Moses challengingly and then tried to smile nicely at the first years. “hey. I’m Fionn Causer. Nice to meet you two”

Emily saw her friend coming into the class escorted by her father... She gave a smile to her neighbor, and waved as he looked back to them...
''Morning, Pippa...'' She said brightly to the girl, as she walked near them.... Then an old boy came next them, and she smiled as she remembered that he was a good pick for pranks...
''Nice to met you too, Fionn. I'm Emily'' She smiled innocently, but her thoughts weren't so innocent at all.

Moses grinned as Emily mentioned going to Italy before, happy to hear someone had been to his country. His laughter grew as Pippa came in, followed by her father. The Italian gave an innocent smile as Filch glared at him an d made a motion of watching him. When the man laughed, Moses let his laughter out again. "He's just being cautious." Moses said, looking at Pippa."After all, you're in a calls with the 'dangerous no good prankster'." he said, making air quotations with is hands.

As Maggie joined them, Moses smiled before it left upon the arrival of Causer as well. But at the other's words, Moses gave a nod. "Very well. If you behave, I'll behave." he said, before giving Maggie a kiss on the cheek. "Ciao Maggie. Good morning so far?" he asked her, with asoft smile.

She smiled to Fionn. "Good that you two can be in the same room without fighting." She smiled at the kiss Moses gave on her cheek. "Yeah, good morning." She giggeled. "It would show if it wasn't a good morning, now wouldn't it." She glanced at Caleb, smiling shyly before looking away.

As Moses kissed Maggie , he look nervously on the floor then circulated his head to another person coming up to him.
" Hi Fionn , I'm Caleb" He smiled politely at the new comer.

Fionn smiled at the first years. “well, good to know. Filch’s kid, huh? Wow…well, good to know, Pippa” definitely someone he would need to stay on the good side of. He nodded curtly at Moses. No glue on my seat, no puking pastils, no truth potions and we’ll be good for the hour, si?” he copied the Italian’s accent and word with a sarcastic drawl, cracking his knuckles to give strength to the warning. “and don’t you dare plant a stinkbomb in my bag again!” he grinned at Maggie. “Pretty lady, I promised there would be no fighting” at least, not while Maggie was around… "hello Caleb" he nodded politely at the man and sat down.

Evaine pokked her head inside the class room 'I guess im not that late." she said to herself taking a seat in the middle of the room wondering where Jim, and Brie was at. "I couldn't have walked that fast would i?" she sighed, her eyes widen seeing Evie "hey evie!" she waved her hand, smiling lest there was one person she knew that was already here.

Emily looked to the two love birds on her side... They looked exactly like the romantic couples into her mother's favorite movies. She had to hold a giggled seeing the two being so cute around, instead she just smirked sweetly, and she had to hold her giggles harder to Fionn... Silly man, giving her so much ideas for her first prank on him.

" Hi Evaine , how have you been?" She smiled while giving her a quick hug.

Hiccup sat next to Emily and said with a smile, "Wow a Boggart. Can you believe it? First lesson with a Dark Magical Creature and to defend ourselves." Hiccup wrote down in his own Care of Magical Creatures book and said as he showed Emily, "No one knows the true form a Boggart and it's hard to believe it takes one spell to make it looks silly as we conquer our fear."
