Having to get away// At the black lake (tag: Jim and whom ever wants to join)

Still freaking out that she might have offended she keep calling herself useless like she mother has been doing all her life. Eva jumped turning her head seeing Jim giving her a warm smile "It's the only thing people called me.. Useless.. no I love you unless it was from my dad, your sweet, Im proud.. Useless.. yet you come in my life and say all of this, Im just scared I might say or do the wrong thing that will make you hate me." she said, placing her hand over her heart it was beating fast, maybe from having a mental break down?

Evaine sighed "why are you so kind to me? Why haven't you called me weird, creepy or annoying? mostly people give up on me once they got to know me so why haven't you?"

"Evaine, you don't have to have that fear around me," Jim assured her. "I don't think anything you say is going to make me hate you at this point. You wouldn't go that far. You're too kind for that."

He gave a little laugh. "I wonder the same thing about myself," he said. "Looks like we both sell ourselves short when the other looks at us. You see the good things in me like I see the good things in you. I guess the real challenge is having us see those good things." He rubbed the back of his neck, surprised that the conversation had taken this turn. "I don't know if I'll ever see myself clearly, but I think you're a great person, no matter what other people say."

Evaine sighed in relief about her not saying the wrong thing that will cause him to be mad at her or leave, but she still wondered what made him so nervous. She bad blushed, they had gone from why always nervous to talk to each other.. to this? Hearing all the nice things Jim was saying her face got red, cupping her hands over to face to hide it yet it made her feel warm and wanted. For someone to say that and not just someone a guy?! A guy she likes.

Eva rolled her eyes, now she was mad that he was selling himself short again 'Im going to hate myself for doing this.' she thought, standing on her tiptoes she kisses his cheek to maybe shut him up "Now would you don't stop talking like that, the next kiss WILL be on the lips Jim." she grin, hold her arms looking at the boy "Everything is good about you, nothing you can say will change how I feel Jim." she said hoping that finally got threw to him.

Somewhere in the middle of his little speech thing, Jim saw Evaine's eyes get a somewhat determined look in them, like she was about to do something big. He opened his mouth to ask her what was on her mind, but he was very surprised when she went over and kissed his cheek. He kind of stood there for a moment, taking a while to absorb what she said afterwards. He blinked several times and shook his head to clear it. It felt like a fog had settled over his mind for a moment. Although his hand did reach up to lightly touch the spot where Evaine had kissed. What was with her? She acted so nonchalant around him, like she was comfortable enough around him to do whatever she wanted. How did he make her feel that way? Was it something he said, the way he looked at her? His stomach felt like jelly just thinking about it.

"Y-yeah, sure. Whatever you say," he simply replied, not knowing what else to say. He was still wrapping his head around what just happened, and his face was still a bright shade of scarlet. How did he and Evaine get like this in only two days of knowing each other? It was nuts! It made him wonder how they would be tomorrow.

Evaine smiled "Good now, no more talking bad about yourself please Jim it makes me sad when you put yourself down like your some kind of monster." she put her hand on his shoulder seeing he was still in shocked that she kissed his cheek "Because I will kiss you on the lips if it makes you shut up about talking bad about yourself for good." she raised her eyebrow, she wasn't joking and she possibly would kiss him. If she could be like herself and feel safe around him why couldn't he? "But if i do that who knows if there are any girls that likes you and will kill me for kissing you" she laughed rubbing the back of her head, laughing nervously "I don't know if it's weird that we're being so open, cause we just became friends yesterday and didn't talk much. Now we're like this and I.." she keep babbling

Jim felt himself gulping a little nervously at Evaine's kissing statement. It seemed like she was being totally serious and he had no idea how to interpret that. "Evaine, it's only been two days, let's chill for a moment," he said. She was acting so weird and definitely not like the shy, quiet girl he had first met. She joked a lot more, and talked a lot, too. Maybe she was nervous about something, because it seemed like she was on a never-ending sentence of some sort. He sighed, but smiled a little as he walked over and put a finger over her lips.

"Eva, don't forget to breathe," he said. "You're getting a little high-strung right now. Just take a deep breath and relax, okay?" He smiled at her. "It's not like you're about to take an exam or something. You're just...hanging out with me."

Evaine blinked when jim shut her up by putting his finger over her lips, nodding at his comment 'maybe i should calm down.' she thought, Eva put his hand down smiling at him "O, Okay." she said

Jim smiled. "That's better." He patted her on the back. "How about we head back inside and go back to the Common Room for a little while? We can probably snag some of those comfy chairs in front of the fire place."

Eva giggled 'alright last one there has to wear a dress tomorrow." she joked, "I'm kidding, but sitting by a nice war fire place sounds great right about now, to bad there isn't why hot chocolate there." she smiled.

"What, you don't like wearing dresses?" Jim teased, pulling playfully on a strand of her hair. "Yeah, too bad. I'm not that far into spellwork yet, so I still can't poof things into existence. But maybe they'll have something warm to drink at dinner or something. They can't fill us up on pumpkin juice forever." He laughed as he followed her towards the school.

"No, cause Ive never cared for them." she smacked his hand "leave my hair alone, if i can't mess your hair you can't pull on mine," Eva teased then sighed "Start learning I don't want to sit my a fire and not have chocolate." she giggles, Eva looked at jim 'soo did i made you change your mind about me?" she asked hoping she didn't freak him out to much when she kissed his cheek and told him thet he wouldn't be the last person she would ever kiss.

"Hmm?" Jim looked at her. "What was there to change? I still think you're a nice person and fun to be around. Although I've never seen you act this giggly before." He chuckled. "You look like a teenage girl that's fawning over a hot actor or something. But you still look nice when you smile, like I've said before. so it's all good in my book."

"well i was hoping that i didn'tt make things weird between us cause i kissed your cheek." Eva looked at jim "Again cause I never had friends to open up to." she pouted, her jaw dropped at his comment "How dare you call me that, big meanie Jimmykins." she teased, smiling at him

"Oh...that." So that was what she had meant. "Um..." Jim's face turned red again. "Let's just...forget it ever happened, okay? Nothing to worry about." He wasn't sure if Evaine felt awkward after that little kiss, but he sure did, mainly because he didn't know how to react. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Evaine's feelings by saying something stupid. "What, I didn't say it was a bad thing," he said, laughing. "It's just what you remind me of. You look like you're about to twirl off and sing with birds on your shoulders like how they do in musicals."

"Alright Deal that never happened.' she laughed seeing he was blushing again "Besides i don't need to b.l.u.s.h.i.n.g. every time." she laughed more then hugged him quickly, she gave Jim a weird look "You watch to much musicals Jim, that kind of stuff doesn't happen in real life Silly boy," she smirked "and if this was a movie i would way more prettier."

"Oh stop it, you blush as much as I do," Jim countered, laughing as he hugged her. "Don't deny it." He rolled his eyes. "My mom's the fan of musicals, not me. I just know about them because she listens to them all the time. Besides, I think you're pretty enough to be in a musical. You could be Joanna from Sweeney Todd, locked away like a bird. Or Elphaba, forever having green skin and a black hat." He waggled his eyebrows before bursting out laughing.

'i have no idea what your talking about good sir.' she said,giggling she looked at him "okay so maybe i blush as much as you do." she laughed more seeing Jim rolling his eyes "the only musical i saw with my mother is um.. I can't remember" she rubbed her head, blushing at him calling her pretty "Your to sweet and stop that it's weird." she pushed him playfully.

"Hey, you shower me with compliments all the time," Jim said, grinning. "I should be able to do the same for you." He worried for a moment when Evaine mentioned her mother, but she was smiling a second later, so it must not have bothered her too much. "Come on, I can hear the sofa in the common room calling our name," he said, putting a hand to his ear as he laughed.

"Oh fine you win, for now." she laughed, twirling around Eva stopped feeling dizzy. "Okay im ready for the couch." she said holding her head then giggled at him acting silly "What am i doing to do with you Jim." Evaine placed her hands on her hips.

Jim just shrugged. "This is how I am. And now, you've gotta deal with it." He batted his eyes at her before snickering and stepping out of her reach in case she wanted to hit him playfully.

"Oh I'll deal with it." she jumped on him back giving him a noogie "You just gotta deal with me."

"Agh!" Jim tried to stay steady on his feet as Evaine jumped onto his back, but he wasn't exactly a very fit person. "Eva, wait, I'm gonna gall, ah!" He finally lost his balance and tumbled onto the grass, pulling Evaine down with him. He blinked for a moment, feeling dizzy. Then he saw Evaine on the ground next to him. "Eva, are you okay?" he asked, sounding a little frantic. "Sorry about that. I'm such a klutz."

Not noticing Jim couldn't keep his balance and tumbled into the grass. Evaine grip on Jim loosen up when she was thrown off Jim, landing next to Jim on her stomach. Evaine held her head slowly standing up "Huh what,." she looked at Jim "No i should be saying sorry, I'm the one who jumped on your back." she said rubbing her head

Jim helped Evaine to her feet, making a mental note to find some time to work out or something. His muscles were kind of flimsy compared to the other boys. "Come on, let's get somewhere you can sit. I think you tumbled worse than me," he said.

Evaine stood right up on her feet "im, okay i think." she said still hold her head as she walked next to Jim back up towards the school. "it's going to be run walking up all them stairs." she laughed, looking up at jim.
