The Grand New Years Ball

Nefertiri strode into the hall in her white, greek-like gown, which showed plenty of leg. She wore silver heels. Her dark hair laid straight down her back. She spotted one of Hogwarts' vipers and grinned slyly.
She strode up to Juliette.
"Bored already?" she asked.

Aileen raised an eyebrow at Julie's comment of the professor before she smirked. "I suppose he is." There was no doubt that he was handsome in appearance. "A shame he is a professor." she added with a chuckle. Upon Juliette's next words, she raised a brow and followed the other's gaze. Indeed the other Bell was with a date. Judging by his schools he was either muggle-born or liked those muggle suits. She frowned upon the sight of it.

But it turned once again back to a smirk upon the next words. "Now now Julie dear, no need to go all the way down to the common room for that. Was not the punch bowl spiked with some alcoholic concoction?" she asked with a tilt of her head. Swiftly, he placed her arm around the other girl's arm. "Come now, shall we head over there and you drink your fill? I'm sure you'll come up with many a fun things to do after wards."

With that said, she was about to lead the other to the punch bowl. She made no plans to drink it herself. At least nothing more than a sip or two. But before she got far, the vampire housemate Nefertiri stopped them to speak. "Hello Miss Wynters." she said politely, the ever common mask of pleasantries on her face.

Julie smirked at Aileen's comment on the professor.

She smirked once again as she looked at her friend when she spoke of the spiked punch.

"Well it was satisfying.. felt like the right amount of buzz. But Vivienne's would've been better.. Buuut I guess I'll have some more." She said as she smirked..

Though she stopped when the vampire walked up to them and talked to her. Her eyes staring at her. She was wondering why she was talking to her. But even if her expression showed she had a problem with the vampire. She herself had no problem with her at all... for now.

"Yup, so I'm going to go have my fill with the spiked punch." She said.

Neffie's eyes flashed at the Vipers' expressions.

"I would have thought you girls would have caused more mayhem than a bit of spiked punch..." she said dryly. "But...if that's as creative as you can be..."
She smirked.

Never much for one getting dressed up, probably shy it took her so long to begin with. Eva walked in the room looking at all the people dress up so nice, each dress was different. Different color different style. Her's was just a two tone blue colored dress, her hair was down in light curls. Far as make up went, she had on light blue eye Shadow and a light pink lipstick on. She just took a deep breath before walking threw the crowed to look for Jim, Todd, Or Brie just anyone she knew to talk to. Maybe she wouldn't feel as nervous like she already starting to feel like. Tugging on her dark blue gloves she went over by one of the tables and sat down looking at everyone dancing or just plan talking. No Jim, Todd, Or Brie any where to be spotted? Wonder where they would be? Heck she couldn't even find Emily, least she was fun to talk to at times like this.

Aileen raised a brow as her smile remained pleasant. "Twas not us who spiked it Miss Wynters." she commented lightly, as if it was a small matter that did not matter. Just a simple little comment to pass the time. "We have bigger plans if things remain much more drawl. " The raven-haired woman tilted her head as her smile turned into a smirk. "Though I wish to not act so soon. Why have all the fun in the early part of the evening?"

With that said, Aileen gave a light chuckle. "Perhaps you wish us to join us to the punch bowl and have yourself a drink? Or is there an engagement that requires your attention elsewhere?" she asked with a raised brew.

Nefertiri maintained her smirk. "Of course. Perhaps it will add some spice to the evening."

She glanced around the dance floor. "There doesn't seem to be many hot guys to snag tonight." she said wistfully. "It would have been so much fun to cause some action..."

She followed the Vipers over to the punch. There was much she admired about them, and being in a lower year than both of them (if not younger) she knew she had much to learn.

Dean gave a dark chuckle, "Civil for now," he commented but I'm almost 100 percent sure I saw someone slip some booze into the punch. It won't be too civil once that take effect."

He glanced out into the crowd and saw Miranda making her way over to them, 'Great,'

"Melgrove," he greeted stiffly when she reached them, "how were your holidays?"[i]

Ed grinned. "Yeah, I think that's my favorite part about coming back here. Anything can happen, and that's always exciting." Ed always preferred the unexpected, things that weren't planned. Unlike most of his family, who liked things planned out, orderly. His mother and aunt were the most orderly out of anyone in the family, and they never failed to admonish Ed whenever his stuff was cluttered or when he did something spontaneous. "I don't think I could grow a beard, even if I tried," he said. Truthfully, he never let his facial hair grow long enough to find out. He had been a clean-shaven guy for as long as he could remember. He blinked as Molly walked by, wondering how John knew her. "Another relative of yours, I suppose?" he asked.

Dresses, make up, shoes, and sparkles. Valerie couldn't wait to start dancing, hopefully their will be alone of fast dance type songs and no slow romantic type to make Val remember she doesn't have a date nor did she want to deal with a boy all threw the ball. Coming down the stairs seeing some of the students by the door talking while some was inside she sneaked passed them and awed at the way it was set up. "Ooo, it's like off a story book." she said to herself not caring if people had heard her or not. Lifting up her pink dress she walked around seeing whom ells was their. Maybe Jimmy would be kind enough to give her once dance before she drinks up all the punch and mocks the Slytherine girls chatting up stupid stuff in her book. Or keep an eye out of leroy to make sure he doesn't mess things up for Jim and Eva.

Miranda actually smiled lightly. The magic in the hall must be affecting her brains. Her eyes sparkled slightly in the glowing lights.

"Good evening, McCoppin," she said lightly. "They were quite wonderful actually. I spent most of my time with my father. He's a bit of an eccentric, you know. So there was never a dull moment."

She smiled grimly, supposing she should inquire after his as well. "And yours?"

Jim caught a bright flash of blue out of the corner of his eye and turned his head. Sure enough, there was Evaine, looking more beautiful than Jim had ever seen her before. He felt kind of mediocre when comparing her radiant blue dress to the plain old suit he wore. Then again, he always felt like she was a shining diamond while he was just a dull rock. But that was just how he saw her: better than him in so many ways, and yet she still loved him. "Eva, over here!" he called, waving his hand so he could see him and Todd.

Knox smiled up at her, repeating her action as she stuck her tongue out, although his being far more childish and playful. Then, a quick mischievous look appeared on his face and a small twinkle in his eye at the thought of the punch bowl, that would be so funny! But then his conscious quickly kicked in and he was sure that he would be doused in the punch instead, biting his bottom lip as he decided it wasn't a good idea. His head tilted slightly, this was his first ball so the thought of having an after party seemed odd, wasn't this the point of the ball, to party? He was sure it would be something he'd understand when he got older. With being a bit too young for the strange after party party, he only huffed and crossed his arms, although it was all in good fun.
"Doesn't mean I won't go!"
He said with his mischievous smile.

Alaric never cared for much about dancing or cared when Hogwarts threw a ball. He never liked getting out a suite and putting it on, it felt not like himself. He grew up around animals, and the forest never around people who dressed so weird like to him. Well no time to be sitting around moping, maybe he'll find someone to talk too. Maybe even someone to help him prank a few girls like that girl Vivi who looks fun to annoy. He walked in the room rolling his eyes at some of the students and sat down at the nearest table.

"Booze? Oh God." Belle face-palmed, seeing how a lot of the kids were drinking the fruit punch. Either they didn't taste the alcohol or they just didn't care. Figured. "Any chance we have of switching the punch bowl while no one's looking? Or it it too late for that?" She didn't exactly want the kids to get drunk as much as the next teacher. But she wad distracted for a moment when Miranda approached then. Oh boy. She hadn't exactly forgotten the fight she and Dean had had back at the Three Broomsticks, and she wasn't sure if the grudge between them had gotten any better or not. Maybe the students aren't the only ones we have to worry about being civil. At least the two were speaking with each other nicely, if a bit stiff-toned. But that was better than nothing. "Miranda, you look gorgeous. Plan on getting a dance or two with a certain doctor?" She waggled her eyebrows suggestively before laughing. "I'm kidding, I"m kidding."

Miranda balked, eyes wide. "Wha- what?! Belle, what on earth are you talking about?" Color rushed to her cheeks. "Sitka and I are just friends," she mumbled.
She glanced back around the Great Hall. "Besides, I don't even see him anywhere around...."

She had hoped to spend a night having fun with her dearest friend, but he didn't seem to have arrived yet. Her hands kept twisting nervously in her purple skirts.

Julie listened to how Aileen spoke to Neffie, something she probably wouldn't have done so calmly. Though she just stood there and smirked as she nodded to Nefertiri. And nodded when Aileen offered her to come drink with them. As she had no problem with her joining.

Though she had to laugh a little when Nefertiri talked about there were no hot boys as they walked to the punch.

"Well.. why don't you just mess with someone's boyfriend just for the fun of it?" She asked as she filled her cup with punch.

Evaine turned her head when she heard someone call for her and surly enough it was Jim. "Oh thank god.." she sighed in relief thinking she'll have to send a search party if order just to find him threw his crowed. Making her way towards them she blushed seeing Jim in a tux "Wow, you clean up good Jim." she said still feeling nervous about being here. Eva glanced up seeing Todd "Oh hey, Good two down and one to go where is Brie anyways I didn't see her, well then again i didn't see you two in this crowed." Eva rubbed her arm as she looked around at all the different faces, old ones and new ones. Should I ask Jim to dance? Maybe I wouldn't feel so nervous.

After downing a few shots of the punch, Mickey noticed Alaric sat at a nearby table and decided to join him. He loved meeting people he had hardly spoke to before; if his memory served him right, he was in Hufflepuff, but he couldn't be sure.
"Hey there, fancy some punch?" Mickey extended his arm towards Alaric.

Chika walked in threw the door seeing all the students rather happy? Maybe someone spiked the punch while no one was looking , la de da this will be kinda run if no one starts a fight. making her way around the students she saw a young of teachers talking and decided to walk to other way. Not use to talking to people anymore since her family died.

Jim laughed. "Thank God I do, otherwise they'd probably throw me out for not looking fancy enough." Then again, Professor McCoppin seemed sort of undressed, yet they had let him in. Maybe because he was a teacher? Jim didn't know. He just shrugged a little. "I'm not sure where she is. There's so many people here, I'm having trouble spotting her. But I'm sure we'll find her soon. Don't worry." He smiled at Evaine as he took her hand and squeezed it. "You look amazing."

Alaric looked up at the boy thinking he might be Ravenclaw, Ric wasn't sure enough, he didn't wanna look like an idiot. "Ah no thanks I'm good man." he said with a small smile before he extended his arm towards Mickey "Alaric Benjamin, Nice to met you." he said.

"Well, I do hope our minster takes his job seriously," she said with a bubbly expression.

"Now if only the music would start, I am dying for a dance." she chirped already looking around do available partners.

"Mickey," he smiled, shaking his hand rather vigorously. Mickey sat down beside him and absorbed the sight before him. He scoured the room for a girl to ask to dance. He could see the Vipers, but no way would he try flirt with them -he liked a challenge, but he didn't want to be physcially hurt in the process. Mickey leant back in his chair, extending out his feet and crossing them.

"What they really throw you out if you didn't look fancy enough for them? I thought this was Hogwarts not some rich school run by the devils." she said with a small laugh 'i mean by dress it's as fancy like some I'm already seeing, they better be lucky they are seeing me in a dress cause if i had it my way i would be coming here in jeans and a top." For Eva never cared about dresses or dolling up, she never had the chance. Heck she was lucky enough to even found this and got it while she still had enough money, she knew her mother wouldn't lend her any money for dresses for the ball. "Yeah tell me about it. I thought i would never find you two threw this crowed." she muttered under her breath. Feeling Jim taking her hand she looked up at him and gave him a smile back "It's just a dress." she comment.
